Rebranding Cost in India 2026: Real Budgets, Timelines and When It Pays Back

Honest 2026 price bands for a rebrand in India, the rollout costs that blow budgets, and how to decide between a refresh and a full rebuild.

Rebranding cost in India is quoted in two very different currencies: the design fee, and the cost of applying the new brand to everything you already own. Founders compare the first and get ambushed by the second. This article prices both.

This is a follow-up to our recent blog, Branding Agency in Pune: Costs, Deliverables and How to Choose (2026), which covers first-time brand builds. If you already have a brand and are considering changing it, start here.

What a rebrand costs in 2026

  • Visual refresh (logo modernisation, palette, type, light guidelines): ₹1,50,000 – ₹3,50,000.
  • Strategic rebrand (repositioning, messaging, identity system, guidelines): ₹4,00,000 – ₹12,00,000.
  • Rebrand with name change (naming, trademark screening, migration): ₹7,00,000 – ₹20,00,000.
  • Rollout and application (website, collateral, packaging, signage, templates): 40–80% of the design fee again.
  • Multi-entity or multi-country rebrand: ₹18,00,000 upwards.

The rollout number is the one to negotiate carefully. A ₹6,00,000 rebrand with a ₹4,00,000 rollout that nobody budgeted for is how brand projects stall at 60% complete — new logo on the website, old logo on invoices, cartons and the reception wall.

Refresh or rebuild? A three-question test

  1. Is the problem recognition or meaning? If buyers know you but misunderstand what you sell, you have a positioning problem, not a logo problem.
  2. Has the business changed shape? New category, new buyer, merger, export push or a move upmarket justifies a strategic rebrand. A tired logo does not.
  3. Is equity worth protecting? If your name carries search demand and referral memory, evolve it. Burning recognition is the most expensive line item of all, and it never appears on a quote.

The costs nobody quotes

Domain and email migration with redirects. Trademark search and filing across classes. Repackaging and existing stock write-offs. Reprinting regulated documents. Retraining sales on new language. Updating Google Business Profile, directories and citations so local search does not fracture. Re-shooting photography that no longer matches the palette. Budget 10–15% of the project as contingency for exactly these.

How to know it paid back

Set the baseline before the reveal: branded search volume, direct traffic, lead-to-meeting rate, average deal size, sales cycle length and win rate against your top two competitors. A rebrand that works usually shows up first as a shorter cycle and less price resistance, not as a traffic spike. Re-measure at 90 and 180 days.

Before you commit spend, run the 45-point brand audit checklist, score yourself with the Brand Health Score Calculator, or ask for a free brand audit. If the outcome is a full rebuild, our brand strategy and brand design teams run them as one scope.

FAQs

About this article.

How much does rebranding cost in India in 2026?

A visual refresh runs ₹1,50,000 – ₹3,50,000, a strategic rebrand ₹4,00,000 – ₹12,00,000, and a rebrand including a name change ₹7,00,000 – ₹20,00,000. Budget another 40–80% of the design fee for rollout.

How long does a rebrand take?

Eight to twelve weeks for a strategic rebrand, and sixteen to twenty-four weeks when naming, website and packaging are inside the same scope.

Will rebranding hurt my SEO?

Only if the migration is careless. Keep URL structure where possible, map 301 redirects one-to-one, update Google Business Profile and citations on launch day, and keep the old brand name on an explainer page for at least a year.

Should I change my company name?

Change it only when the current name blocks the business — wrong category signal, trademark conflict, unusable domain, or a market you cannot enter. Otherwise evolve the identity and keep the equity.
